Some goals we can work towards:
*Figure out good concentrations of the chemicals
*Finding a good exposure time
*Figure out if out inktjetprinter prints dense enough traces to make this work
**Maybe someone with a laserprinter can also print a small circuit, to compare. PAY ATTENTION, you can break your laserprinter if you use transparent sheets that are designed for inkjet. They can not handle the heat.
Some very ambitious goals:
*making a soldermask (should be possible with dry film)
*figuring out how fine our traces can be
*testing if it is possible to use our minicnc to drill the holes before etching
**I did some testing with the CNC in preparation of this event, and it looks great for DIP. I just tested in some MDF with a 1mm drill to make holes for pinheaders 2.54mm appart, and they look really well. [[CNC_Router#Drilling_holes_in_PCB_(before_etching)|Here]] is some more information.
***Still to do find a way to convert gerber drill files to G-code (and to a form our CNC understands), but this should be possible. This could possibly give us the best of both worlds, the automatic drilling from the CNC, and the accuracy etching can provide.
